Nineteen Years as a Professional Writer After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at the College of Wooster in Ohio, I went into journalism in upstate NY where I covered every type of story imaginable over five years. I was especially adept at interviewing people to gather information and emotion. I published more than 1,200 articles and won eight Associated Press writing awards. As a reporter I developed the ability to write quickly and get to the point no matter how much information I had.
After covering several difficult stories, I left journalism and became responsible for development, grant writing, and fund raising for a $1.5 million non-profit housing agency, also in upstate NY. Over four years, my writing ability raised $5 million for different programs including domestic violence, mental illness, and low-income housing.
At this point, I decided to move back to my home state of RI and, after a short stint at another non-profit, became a technical and creative writer for a major international business. I wrote all manner of marketing and sales materials for this company for more than eight and a half years, contributing to proposal wins worth more than $2.5 billion.
Today, I am looking for a diversity of work and challenges. I am focused on your success and give you and your written copy my full attention. My writing has proven successful over the last 19 years. Let's see what we can create together to ensure your future.
